Soon after my mother passed away in Sept. 08 I began seeing this small ball of light out of the corner of my eye. it seemed to be happening more often when she first passed (as in several times a day) and now it only happens once or twice a day. I mostly see the light in the evening. and most frequently in my staircase where I have a large picture of her hanging. when it first began to occur I called my aunt (my mother's sister) and told her of the strange happening. she told me that she too has been witnessing this light. she was practically finishing my sentences for me while I was describing the occurrences to her, indicating that she knew exactly what I was talking about. she went on to explain that she had at first felt that there was something wrong with her eyes and had actually scheduled an appointment with her eye doctor. after speaking with me we both concluded that it had to be my mother possibly trying to communicate with us or send some type of message. I also noticed that the light often appears when im around certain people, for example, right when they come to my front door or soon after coming into the house. my boyfriend (of nearly two years) and I, broke up soon after my mothers death. I became involved  (romantically) with a close guy friend a month or so later. every time he was at my house, I would see the light come and go. he later turned out to be a jerk and started threatening my life after we had a bad argument. since then, the guy that I was with beforehand and I have decided to try to work things out. I often see the light when he's at my house as well. my mother knew him and thought he was a good guy. so I guess im trying to determine if this ball of light is her presence, whether or not she's just trying to let me know that she is here, and also when she appears when im around certain people, if she is trying to warn me about that person or encourage me. I would also like to state that since my mother passed I have had four dreams that in a way predicted something that was going to happen or a way that I was going to feel, one to three days beforehand. I feel that she is sending me messages as to try to warn me or prepare me for things that are to come. I say that this is directly related to my mother because I've never had dreams like this before.

            Is there any possibility that the smell, scent, fragrance or odor was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?        no

How long did the experience last?        the experience is practically daily and usually last for several seconds.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real

            Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:           I know it is real because it keeps happening.  I have heard about other people having similar experiences, including my aunt.

the dreams are dreams...I wake up. the ball of light is definitely not a dream or even dream-like 

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:           I feel like she is there and that I should say hello and ask her questions. I also feel that I should talk to her about my feelings. I feel like I should ask her is something wrong or getting ready to happen.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?           Yes

I feel like she is in a better place for sure. I'm not afraid of the light. initially it made me a little uncomfortable, probably because I didn't know what it was.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      hard to answer.... I'll have to get back to this question 

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?            Yes     that there is an afterlife and that those that we have lost are still with us... just in another way

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          Yes in relation to the dreams, in one I dreamt that I was driving past a person that works at a convenient store near my house. in reality I saw this person often. in the dream I was driving by him very, VERY, slowly. there was nothing going on in the background, I was just watching him. the next day (reality) this person sexually assaulted me in the parking lot in front of the store that he works at. I also dreamt another time that my wheels were stolen off of my car. a few days later (reality) I damaged both of my back tires and had to get a whole new set of rims for my car. in the dream I was very upset. afterwards I felt that the dream was a warning that I was about to loose my current wheels and would have to get new ones.
