Experience description:  

I began coming out of the coma after these events.  My son came to visit me at the hospital and I was told by family & other persons that when he came to visit I started to talk & told my son that he was not to be there that he died. 

I was told that he said "Maw, I am fine." The night before he died I was told I became very upset because I said my son died.  They contacted him and tried to reinforce that he was fine.  The next morning was a Friday and I told  a hospital CNA that My "son died this morning."  They again tried to tell me he was fine.  Later that afternoon, apparently I received a call from my daughter that my son had died from an overdose.

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes     My deceased parents were speaking to me telepathically and I know they told me why I had to cont. to live, but I don't remember the reason.

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          Yes     My deceased parents told be I had to go back (to live) but my son would be taken to the other side.  My son died on 6-1-2007.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    Not at all.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal every day consciousness and alertness?    Less consciousness and alertness than normal

            Not at all.

Did your vision differ in any way from your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect, such as clarity, field of vision, colors, brightness, depth perception degree of solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)?  Uncertain      I do not remember most of the events except seeing and speaking with my parents & talking about why I needed to go back and my son would be taken to the other side.

Did your hearing differ in any way from your normal, everyday hearing (in any aspect, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness, etc.)?
            Uncertain      Do not remember

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Uncertain

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Peace and an urgent need to get back.

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?          No      

Did you see a light?           No      

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     My deceased parents at a younger age.

Did you experience a review of past events in your life?    Uncertain     

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          Yes     Family, friend & hospital workers.

Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions?            Yes     Hard to explain.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   Yes    

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?     Yes     It seems that I was told things that I just can't remember now.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure? Uncertain     

Did you become aware of future events?       Yes
            Like I said my son died as I was told.  I do not remember my purpose but I can say I was in agreement then,  Like I knew I had to do more.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the experience?     Uncertain     

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     Many people heard that I said my son was going to die.  Some people said it was the relationship with a mother and her son.  Other people believed it was a paranormal experience.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?    Yes     I read about it and knew someone a long time ago that experienced a different type of experience.

How did you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:            Experience was definitely real   

Were there one or several parts of the experience especially meaningful or significant to you?    I truly believe now that there is an afterlife, and my son is well, and watching over his family,  but I miss him terribly.

Have your religious beliefs/practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?           
Yes     I have a stronger belief in God, and afterlife.  MY son visits me in dreams.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         No      

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        I wish I could remember everything about the experience.
