Experience description:

I heard my mother say two words "your kids"

Was the experience difficult to express in words?     No  

Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them? Yes 

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?   Yes          

Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?   Externally,  I can discern that the voice was that of my mother, but it sounded like she had alot of throat congestion, and I heard her say "your kids" 

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?     Similar, but that they needed to cough to clear the airway.     

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?   No, it was my mother.  I was alone in the room and she wanted to get the message to me "your kids".  

Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?   No, I am sane with good hearing.

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?   No                   

Did you see the deceased?   No                      

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?    No                

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?   No        

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?    Experience was definitely real    My mother  would have felt very strongly about the situation that I am in and her grad children.

Was the experience dream like in any way?    No                

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?    Yes    I was gong to move and and was thinking was it the right thing, the right decision, as my husband is wealthy .  I know now, I have to go and leave him and my step daughter behind.   It really has to be about "my kids".   

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?    Yes    I feel like my mom was hell bent on getting her message to me that I shouldn't worry about anything except what's best for my kids. 

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?    No    

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?   No

Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?    No   

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?       No   

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?        No   

Did you become aware of future events?           No   

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?     No   

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?    No   

Did you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?    No            

Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described above?   No   

Have you shared this experience with others?    Yes   

Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?    Yes    Father, brother and 2 daughters.   

Were there any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?    No    I heard my mother says two words "your kids"       

Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?      Yes    I was ten and got caught in a rip tide.  I went under the water and saw a long tunnel with light.  I did not feel my body, there was a memory lapse.  I felt extreme peace and relaxation.  However, I must have been swimming all along, when I woke up I was swimming seeing my sister way ahead of me looking at me saying "swim, tish, swim"  I swam until my arms and legs scraped on the sandy beach  I was okay, exhausted, and I made it.
