Experience description:

I was half lay half sat up in bed watching prisoner cell block H I had been in the room quite a while (a good two or three hours) doing nothing bar watching the TV. I remember thinking something along the lines of "I used to watch this with Nan should I turn over? not wanting the repeat feelings of her not being here but decided to watch it non the less" very soon after this (no more then two minutes.) I hear a click at the door I'm thinking its my father come to "check on us" before going to sleep himself. but it isn't the door opens fully (yes physically I wasn't dreaming and the handle was a lever one so it actually had to "move" for the door to open) my Nan stood their as bright as ever smiled, then waved. then disappeared. somehow I knew although she had "physically vanished" she was "still their" because then the door closed.  felt peaceful during the experience very soon after my thoughts went to "she move the door! then to She's alive still....why doesn't she come more often?" but bar that nothing "scary".

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?          Uncertain

Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:   well it wasn't exactly associated with the deceased it was associated with the door...I heard and saw the handle go down before the door opened.

Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?  the sound came as though it was a door opening and wasn't directly connected to the deceased other then the fact that she moved the door.

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?           different location then where "we" myself and Nan lived when she was alive......different doors too!

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           yes its possible one of the many (five or six) doors outside the room where opened and I mistook it for the sound of my door opening however that doesn't explain how I "Saw" the handle and door open then saw my Nan stood in the doorway slowly entering the room stopped smiled waved then disappeared nor the door closing fully itself (you would have to push it quite strongly as its a lever handle".

Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?            maybe....as the television was on low I could have taken a sound from there and mistook the location.

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?            No

Did you see the deceased?         Yes

well she was appearing as white , but all the features of herself. no "pun" intended here when I say she looked more alive when she arrived in spirit then she did when she was laying in the chapel of rest (rephrase when her Body was lay in the chapel of rest). she was pure white but could see not "through" her totally but she obviously wasn't ALL physical. the main thing that stood out was he "Sense" very strong.

How clearly did the deceased appear?            very clear not solid but...erm the only physical description I can give is like when you see a cobweb on top of another and another and another it appears "solid" enough and yet you know that theirs some little gaps. its just what I seen as her energy. it was her alright.

How much of the deceased did you see?       from head to toe and all the bits in between.

Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?       she seemed more "lively" but definitely the same age as when she passed (45)

How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            she had a brain tumor it killed her.....and glasses.... she had the glasses when I saw her in spirit although at a guess id say the brain tumors gone!.

Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           no.

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?      No

How long did the experience last?        less then 5 minutes.

Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?         both sudden. I expected the door to open didn't expect my Nan to be stood their. when she left I expected the door to close but didn't expect her to disappear and she disappeared Then closed the door!

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?           Yes

yes somewhat....she was happy, lively, and coming back to say "Hello".

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?  None that I can remember....although without any information passes she proved to me the existence of life after death.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real

Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:          a) big heavy wooden doors don't just open and close. b) my Nan didn't just come at a time I was thinking about her she came when her favorite programmed was on! c) she stood in the doorway, d) I could sense her mood) e) she smiled and waved. D) she disappeared (to disappear something would have had to have been their in the first place correct.....) the door closed.

Was the experience dream like in any way?   No

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:           BEFORE the experience I was sad but not depressingly so. I was also relaxed and "thoughtful". by body was relaxed my mind was active. DURING the experience I was "shocked" but not a falling on a rollercoaster type of shocked a shocked but happy then no sooner had I got over the shock and it was over.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?           Uncertain

unsure we moved from the location, got made homeless again then things went from bad to worse.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      best part her entrance and the experience worst part was her leaving.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Uncertain                  Describe:            lots has happened since then paranormally and physically within my life. some would seem to many people "huge changes" moving location someone murdered. going into care coming out of care adult schooling etc. so who knows? its certainly part and parcel of what makes up my psychic , spiritual experiences.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Uncertain      I was still unsure of living after physical death even though I had sensed my Nan two times previously (one already mentioned here and on the other occasion myself and my mother sensed her) although I still believed I sensed her that didn't mean we could "communicate" or be seen to me or even that we "lived" after death it just meant I could sense an external source that I believed was my Nan and that my grandfather on the first occasion and mother on the second sensed the same thing. it didn't "prove" anything to me. this did it proved we live after death.

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?            Yes     we only physically die, our spirit lives on

Death Compacts are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies first will try to contact the other(s).  Have you ever made such a compact?        No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No
What emotions did you feel during the experience?            afterwards I thought of waking my sister (she would likely tell me to go back to sleep!) I thought of telling my mother whom would come up with some nice explanation! but didn't want to wake my father whom was in the same room as mother (Grumpy Git) non- believer. eventually fell asleep feeling great that I was privileged to have this communication.

Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?           No

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes
we live after physical death. a feeling. strong stayed with me all my life until now.

Did you become aware of future events?       No

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         Uncertain

I have had many experiences some adc some obe and some esp. before going "into" psychic work its impossible to say which "kicked it off". I have not yet detailed my "strongest and longest connection with someone I never knew "physically" will do in a later page for you.

Did you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?            Yes

my sister was asleep in the other bed. as previously mentioned.

Did you see a light?           Yes

yes it filled my Nan and was somewhat behind her I "forgot" to previously mention it a) the account was a long time ago and B) the hall may well have been lit up although was usually in a dimmed light. it mayor may not be "spiritual related" this is the only part of the experience I am uncertain of.

Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described above?            No

Have you shared this experience with others?

Yes     some people were amazed some people were grateful their experiences were "not approved" but that someone else had had them and could relate to them. other people seemed not "jealous" as such but "still hurting" inside....which is natural weather you see spirit daily or have odd experiences or No experiences you will always feel for the ones you love.

Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?            Uncertain

I use lots of message boards its possible I have recounted it on other sites.

Is there anything else you would like to add regarding your experience?       nope think all the bases are covered would like to say keep up the good work in documenting these accounts though I found your website in a brilliant book.

Were there any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?            No

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         No

I take ibuprofen from time to time for shoulder pain bar that no medication. nothing illegal, and no "substances". however meditation gives a great relaxing feeling and is my belief that can lead to a communication and be out of body experiences. having experienced the latter through meditation, and uncertain as to my experiences being communication through meditation in other experiences due to "not knowing anyone present" it does increase your dreams "reality" and your visualization skills though if you work within anything deemed "psychic" meditation is a must.

Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?           Yes

many. non near death though. a few out of body experiences some I'm definite on some I'm uncertain because of not feeling "coming back" or "leaving the physical" but being aware the situations real others definite because I felt a vibration level increase then leaving the physical then my experience then a return to the physical nothing usually physically lasting over  10 mins though. some esp experiences (knowing my Nan was having (CPR?) hands compressed on the chest in the ambulance before my father coming back then me "knowing" she was dead before he spoke things like that....

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?               Yes

yes. I gave as much detail as I could to the well formed questions.

Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.    nope all the bases covered I think. Good work.
