I woke up and sat down on the edge of my bed, as I always do, to completely wake up.  Suddenly, like a thunderbolt in a clear sky, my father was standing in front of my bed with a woman on  his side. His position was approx. 1 1/2 meters in front of me.  As I was sitting on my bed I had to look upwards to see his face.  He stood there in his natural length. My father and the woman stood in a clear light-blue light.  My father was dressed in a beautiful light-grey suit, which I remember he wore in the years 1948-1952, when I was 10 till 14 years old. He looked to me rather young and healthy. My father had natural colors, a little on the pale side perhaps. I could see every wrinkle and detail of his face. I saw him speaking to me. His lips moved and I recognized the very typical wrinkles on the side of his lips which always moved when he spoke. He was just a very natural man standing there in my room. His blue eyes were unnaturally clear and his look to me was very penetrating.  The only notion I had that this was not a natural event was the light-blue light he was standing in and something else: the moment he appeared I heard a sound like :wouououff, like a machine that was put on, a low somewhat irritating droning sound, which I kept hearing during the whole experience. I saw my fathers lips moving but I did not hear anything with my ears, but I did get a lot of chaotic information in my head, which took me about an hour after the experience to put in logical order until a very clear and important message emerged. I will describe the message in the appropriate following column.

The woman standing next to my father was much smaller than he. She was somewhat corpulent and she looked to the ground during the whole experience. I never got a chance to look into her face. Her hair was long and dark brown. Her hair hung all over her left shoulder. She had a darker complexion than my father. She was dressed in a light blue coarsely knit long dress with something like a hood on her back, but I could only see her right shoulder because of the hair over her left shoulder. First I thought this could be my mother but afterwards I started to doubt about that because my mother was a rather long beautiful lady and was as long as my father.

A little time later I went to a medium to speak with my father ( I never went to a medium in my life) and he told that when he died he was taken away by his sister Adela, who died in a German concentration camp in 1943. Later on another medium confirmed that the woman I had seen with my father was indeed his sister Adela, who I remember as a young child to be very sweet and affactive and a little corpulent.  After the message was completed the whole experience vanished as quickly as it had occurred.

Was this experience difficult to express in words?

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?

            Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:  

Please define "hear". I saw my fathers lips move during the whole experience. He was clearly telling me something important because of his penetrating look. I did hear nothing with my ears, only a droning sound, but I heard very clearly in my head all kinds of chaotic information. After the experience I was completely flabbergasted and I stayed sitting on my bed because something told me, that I had to think very hard RIGHT NOW what all the information was that I had in my head and to put it together in a logical order. After an hour I had it together and I started calling all kind of people to tell them about this. The message my father gave me was the following: "Your mother is now with me .She is now very joyful and happy. She has stayed all the time with her body and with you and your children, but when the coffin sank into the grave she has come with me. It has cost us a lot of effort and sacrifices to appear to you. We do have a very urgent request to you : this is very important, please give a lot of attention to your children and grandchildren. Help them wherever you can spiritually and materially. Spiritually is more important. We will help you in order to make this possible for you. "  She is now very joyful and happy.  She did stay all this time with her body and with you and your children mother is now with me. She now is very joyful and happy.

            Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated? 

As I said I did not hear any voice at all with my ears, except the low droning humming but I got the unmistakable notion, that something was put into my head, which I could put together afterwards, I can not describe it any other way.

            If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?          

I did not hear a voice only a droning sound, but the message was without any doubt in the tone of voice my father used when he was alive, he could speak very seriously about things.

            Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?          

absolutely not possible. It was a Saturday morning very early and everybody was still sleeping . There were no sounds from outside the house.

            Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?  

No. An hour after the experience I made several telephone calls and my hearing was totally normal.

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?           

No

Did you see the deceased?        

Yes

My father was interned in a German concentration camp during the war. He was of Jewish origin. After the war he was very depressed because nearly all his family in Holland had been murdered. He had 5 good years after the war, when he was still relatively healthy. From 1950 till 1956 he was seriously ill with rheumatic fevers originating from his camp-period . He died in 1956 when he was only 5o years old. His appearance I can only describe as his appearance in his very best period, let's say 1948-1950. He looked to me as very strong and determined and was exactly dressed like in that period. He had natural healthy colors, which can not be compared with his looks by the end of his life when he was a wreck. He looked to me slightly on the pale side, but this can also be because he was standing in this light blue light, which looked somehow like a light blue neon-light, but much softer.

            How clearly did the deceased appear?            Very very solid, just like you, when you would stand 1 1/2 meters in front of me.

            How much of the deceased did you see?       All of his body in his natural length of 1.75 meters.

            Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?       No not at all. He looked like 8 years younger when he was still healthy.

            How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            Like I said, my father was a wreck when he died. He did not look at all like that. His appearance was the way I know him when he was still healthy, 1948.

            Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           Of course not. My bedroom curtains were still closed. There was a little sun coming in though , through a small fold in the curtain.

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?     

No

How long did the experience last?       

In my opinion it could not have lasted longer than 2 1/2 till 3 1/2 minutes.

Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?        

Beginning: very sudden. End : very sudden.

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?          

Yes

Compared to his attitudes in life he came over like very emotional and serious with a great deal of urgency like he did not have very much time. It looked like a very often rehearsed performance. He also let me know, that this appearance had cost him or ⁿs" as he put it a great deal of effort and sacrifices.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know? 

Yes, the information he gave was: we are not dead. We are still alive. This is a consolation : your mother is now again united with me. She now is very joyful and happy. You have to give more attention to your children and grandchildren. They need you, even if they behave like not. You should penetrate more into their lives and help them when you see, that certain things go wrong.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?          

Experience was definitely real

            Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:         

The experience was so overwhelming that it could only be real. Nevertheless I asked my physician, a psychiatrist, The State University Utrecht, department Paranormal Institute and several good mediums in Holland. The overall result was: it was definitely real.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?  

No

Define "dreamlike". Of course it is dreamlike when you see your father and aunt, who died 50-60 years ago alive and well. The light blue light and the droning in my ears are also somewhat dreamlike. Nevertheless I am convinced, really convinced, that this had nothing to do with a dream of hallucination.

What did you feel (while awake) immediately prior to your experience?

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:          

Flabbergasted. What is happening ? This is really my beloved father after 48 years. Is this my mother. She does not look much like it. Why is she constantly looking to the ground ? This can not be happening to me. What is father saying ? It must be very serious. I hear him in my head. They are gone. What the hell happened ?

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?          

Yes

Yes. They are not dead. They are with me. I am not alone. There is life after this life. The universe is not a coincidence . It has a meaning that I am here. I am supposed to take life seriously. I should do something about that.  Make life better for my surroundings. I have a task.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?     

The best part was, that I was told that father and mother are still alive and very well and that there is a life after this life and our existence here on earth is not without sense. It is important what we do.

The worst part is, that I started to realize, that I do not give enough attention to my children and grandchildren.

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?           

Yes     There is life after death. The universe is governed by a super being with the power to make anything possible. 

this super being must love us. It is even able to send my dead father to me. That is an act of ultimate love. I must start reading and learning much much more about this and what others have experienced. I have a duty to be of help to others. I have to be extremely grateful.

Death Compacts are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies first will try to contact the other(s).  Have you ever made such a compact?       

No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?         

Yes Define "verified". My children and grandchildren can be verified by ordinary people. Other things have been verified to me by mediums.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?           

They are alive ! They are not dead. Let me think very hard what father put into my head. I have to tell EVERYBODY about his. This is a revelation

Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?          

No

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?  

Uncertain

The place was defectively my bedroom . Together with my father I was also aware of the bedroom curtains and the daylight shining in through a fold. The time I am not so sure about. In my opinion it lasted some 3 minutes, but it could have been shorter or even much longer.

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?   

Yes

I now know definitely, that there is a world after this life. Before I was sympathetic to that idea but never sure. Also now I know, what is the ultimate purpose for us to be on this earth: help the people and make a better earth. It seems to be very important to God that the earth and the human beings evaluate to something much better than is the case now.

Did you become aware of future events?      

Yes

Immediately after the experience my father continuously put messages into my head. This happened almost always in the morning after I raised and was making tea or something like that. There were two very important messages. I always checked the messages with a medium in Holland. Most of the times my father confirmed to her that the messages came from him and that I had understood them right. Sometimes the medium got no confirmation. My father gave no answer.

The medium then told me, that I was wrong about this being a message, but that it were simply my own thoughts, that I misinterpreted as a message. In order for you to understand the messages, I have to give you some background of myself. When my father died he left us a small garment manufacturing company. I discovered, that I had a special gift: designing young women's clothing. By very hard work, but mainly due to this gift I developed the company at my very young age to the largest coat-manufacturing company in the Benelux. After all I am sure now, that it was my father who developed this gift in me. Because of my heart problems I did not work any more in the years before my mother died. Reflecting it was a rather useless life I led. The first important message my father sent me was the following: I should start producing my raincoats and jackets again. I should design a new line for spring 2005. I should realize that the garment industry in Europe now is functioning on a much smaller scale than 45 years ago.

There is a new medium the internet, I should start selling my products there. I should produce them in Poland. I should put up my designing and patternmaking department in Lodz, his area of birth. Over there are the best patternmakers and technicians and it is cheap. Poland just has joined the EU. There are too many important details here to mention them all. If you feel this is important you can contact me and I can tell you everything about it. Anyway, I designed the new line and showed it to a number of extremely important buyers in the EU. With no exception they were elated. You can see the result on my current website www.greenspan-clothing.com  I had no problems designing this line but I did have large problems building the website and right now with the internet marketing. I have to try to get 1000 fashion partners, who will exchange links with me , to find a large number of affiliates, who sell for me and to find a large number of fashion-related merchants for whom my website will sell. I never anticipated these problems, but I have to do it, otherwise my line will never be seen by anyone. I think my father put me to work because this will somehow develop into a large job giving opportunity, which enables me to help mankind. I say this because of the second very important message my father gave me and which belongs in the next column 37.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         Yes

My father told me about certain actions I had taken during my life which he feels deserved a lot of praise. My father explained that a number of people were not pleased with those actions at all but that this had political reasons and why this was so at that time. He said that all those people now deeply regret their attitude at that time cooperating with this. He said they will have to carry that regret with them until the end of their lives. Then my father said the following which impressed me very much:  GOD SOMETIMES MAKES AN EXCEPTION. HE IS GIVING YOU A SECOND LIFE DURING THIS LIFETIME. You have to see this as a reward and you have to try to use all of your experience to make the very best of it that you can.  Of course I told this right away to my medium. What exactly does this mean ? My medium told me: your father says: Hans has only given during his life. She then explained: You now have gotten paranormal gifts, but in your next life you will have very strong paranormal gifts and you will help a lot of people by that future gift. This is the point where I started designing my clothing-line. My heart problems seemed to diminish to almost nothing and the last 6 months I developed an energy that I did not have in the last 10 years preceding this together. Right now I am pretty exhausted and I am taking a little rest now but the mediums tell me that it will all turn out to be a success and that I will succeed with everything.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?    

No

Did you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?           

Yes

Like I explained, I saw my aunt Adela with my father. I saw her but I did not meet her, because she did not look at me. She looked constantly to her feet.

Mediums explained to me that due to her experiences with the Germans during the war she will only visit this world when it is absolutely necessary. She does not like to come to this world.

Did you see a light?          

Yes

Yes definitively. A clear soft light blue light, which surrounded my father and my aunt.

Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described above?           

No

Have you shared this experience with others?        

Yes     The first person I called right after the experience is a colored lady originally from Dutch Surinam, who worked for my mother as a housekeeper for 12 years and had a very strong good relationship with mother. Her reaction was: I am not surprised. These things happen all the time. I heard many stories from people who were visited by deceased people. This has really happened to you , you should not doubt that for a second.

My daughter could not believe her ears.

when I told her that I would go to the medium for the second time she asked me if she could come with me. she wanted to talk to her grandfather, whom she had never known. She told me that during her whole life she always had the feeling that a little angel was sitting on her shoulder who had protected her . She went with me to the medium and talked for 3 hours with her granddad. After that she was totally convinced about my experience and told me that her

 grandfather had told her things, which the medium could impossibly know.

My daughter in law was convinced. Her mother believes very strongly in those things.

My son was skeptic. He still is.

My physician and a psychiatrist told me this was a hallucination. Happens often after deep grief like my mother dying.

The State University of Utrecht has a sub-division of the psychiatric dept., called the Paranormal Institute. It is financed by the Dutch Government. Sometimes I am very impressed by the foresight of my little country. Might be interesting for you to contact them.

Mr. Bosga told me that the analyses of those experiences as "hallucination" is an old-fashioned point of view. Their psychiatric department taught this 20 till 40 years ago, therefore older psychiatrists always call this hallucination. They have studied those experiences for years and my description tells them that this most probably has really happened. They are very interested to know what the experience has led me to do. When I have a good complete overview please report this to Professor Gerding. she went with me to the medium and talked for 3 hours with her granddad.
