INTERESTING FAQ:
We analyzed 238
contributions to our ADC website form exploring the relationship between the
deceased and the person reporting the ADC. We found that 46 (19%)of the contacts
occurred within 24 hours or less. Interestingly, 35 (76%) of the 46 contacts
occurred between blood relatives. Only 5 (14%) occurred between significant
others.

S: So does the "research" show that other
people have these dreams? What other thoughts do you have on these death dream
scenarios?
JODY: I, personally, think that being in an
altered state of consciousness (the dream) makes it easier for loved ones who
have passed to communicate with us on earth. Far from being
non-evidential, I would argue to the contrary. The way that we process our
reality is that before our subconscious will alert our conscious mind, the input
must pass a threshold test. If it is important then the subconscious will
allow the input to move into our rational, or conscious level of mind. In
the dream state, this threshold may well be less since we do not have the waking
overload of input from the 5 senses. Therefore, communication that may
normally be able to occur in a dream or drowsy state, would reach us easier than
in the waking state of consciousness.

FUNNY FACT
England is old and small and the
local folks started running out of places to bury people. So in the
1500's they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a
"bone-house" and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of
25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they
realized they had been burying people alive. So they thought they would
tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and
up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit
out in the graveyard all night (the "graveyard shift") to listen for the
bell; thus, someone could be "saved by the bell" or was considered
a "dead ringer." |
FUNNY FACT
In the 1500's, lead cups were used
to drink ale or whiskey. The combination would sometimes knock them out
for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for
dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen
table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat
and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of
holding a "wake." |
The
Afterlife - ADC Humor
An elderly couple made a deal that whoever died first would somehow
come back to inform the other of the afterlife... their biggest fear
being that there really was no heaven.
After a long life, the husband was the first to go and, true to his
word, a few weeks later as his wife sat and watched TV, she heard a
ghostly voice saying, "Maude ...Maude ... "
"Is that you, John?" she asked as she looked in vain around the room,
and the voice responded, "Yes Maude, I've come back just like we
agreed."
"What's it like, John?" Maude asked.
John said, "Well, I get up in the morning and I have sex. Then I have
breakfast, and after that more sex. I bathe in the sun for awhile and
then I have sex twice. I have lunch, then have sex pretty much all
afternoon. After dinner, I have sex until late at night ... and the
next day it starts all over again."
"Oh, John," Maude said, "then surely you must be in heaven!"
"Not exactly," John said ..."I'm a rabbit somewhere in Wyoming."

How do I know that the experience was real
and how do I communicate with my loved ones again?
JODY: Hello READER,
First of all, thanks for sharing your experience. As you
know, we are researching answers to questions such as you pose. We
highly encourage people to share via the webform

the ADC phenomena. We really don't have enough data to answer your
question scientifically. I do know that many ADCs occur in all states, such
as the dream state, the waking state, the meditative state, and etc. I also
have a good understanding of how we process information and how we access
memories.
However, many questions on classifications of states and
whether or not communications from the other side are authentic, still are
fairly subjective. And as you recognize, it isn't easy to distinguish the
line between reality and wishful thinking. You'll have to decide that one for
yourself.
ADCs seem to be a gift to the recipient on earth to tell
them that life goes on, and in most cases, it is much better than when the
deceased person was here on earth.
One of the more interesting things about studying ADCs is
the aftereffects when the living person integrates such events with their
every day reality. As you are now doing, you are making some large leaps and
bounds into the spiritual arena - you are asking questions and wanting to
learn more about life and death. The path will take you in some very amazing
directions. The person you are now, will not be the same in a year from now.
That is spiritual growth. Had your life remained static, you probably
would not have grown as much or in this particular direction.
I have many readers that tell me about searching in various areas. They
immerse themselves in reading books, meditation, nature, religious pursuits,
or taking classes on psychic phenomena such as out of body experiences.
Please recognize that this list is not all-inclusive, just suggestions.
Another good thing to do is to look at the other two websites that we have

All three websites give a rounded picture of what
the consciousness is and how it appears in different states.
There are no quick and easy answers that are right for
everyone. I have given you some options - now you can pick which one you are
most likely to benefit the most from.

I opened my eyes widely
and was keenly aware that I was going to experience something
incredible. I looked into my pillow and breathed very slowly. My
father's face began to appear two inches from my face. The image
remained translucent, as I could see my pillow through him. I did not
speak, because I just "knew" to look back at him. His face was as his
age depicted at the time of his death. He looked at me in the most
loving way I EVER remember.

The telephone rang. I had
a phone right by my bed and I got off the bed and answered it. A voice
said "Valerie". I said "Mony!" She said "You get up out of that bed
right now, do you understand me?" And I replied "Yes Mony". I couldn't
believe it. It was my grandmother who had passed on 8 months earlier.

of a sudden I felt a complete sense of calm and opened my eyes. I was
looking at the ceiling fan and saw it start to go around very slowly
about ten times like it was being pushed around. I did not have the fan
on as I was very cold and even had a cover on top me. I knew
immediately it was Tim.

Had a
dream about my late grandmother calling me on a phone. The phone was
not my phone, though. I was my future phone, as will be stated in this
statement. She said that she was fine, was having fun, and I could hear
her "friends" laughing in the background. She showed me a baby boy,
sitting on a blanket, on a tile floor. Then she showed me my house.
She kept saying that everything would be fine. That I'd be worried,
but she would always be there, and everything would work itself out. Prophetic

From Sweden
She
came to me when i was asleep. at first I didn't know who she was, but then she
make me remember. I remembered her from an old photography I saw once when I was
a very little boy. Then she said that she was going to say a very
important thing and that I should listen very carefully. She said that
buildings should be trethered(sp?) but only two shall brake and those buildings
who shall break were twins

there. i had been waiting for some confirmation from Shane that he was
okay, and receiving this message on Easter a.m. meant for me, that he

GRABBED ME BY THE ARMS AND WHISKED ME ACROSS THE ROOM. HE THAN ENGULFED ME IN
HIS ARMS. I FELT AN ENORMOUS ENERGY BEGIN TO PASS THRU MY BODY. A LOUD BUZZING
NOISE ACCOMPANIED THE ENERGY. THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE IT WOULD BE
ELECTRICITY. IT FELT AS THOUGH I WAS BEING ELECTROCUTED. I SAID TO JAY, "WHAT
IS GOING ON, WHAT IS HAPPENING?" HE THEN SAID THESE EXACT WORDS TO ME, "IT IS
OK, I AM RIGHT HERE." HE REPEATED THIS ONCE MORE. I SUDDENLY BECAME OVERWHELMED
WITH EMOTION AND BEGAN TO CRY VERY HARD.

7/25/04 It
was my deceased father, full form, glowing. I felt confused at first
thinking, I see my father? But then I took inside all the details of
seeing him. I slowly looked him over from head to toe, taking in all
the details of his body, the clothes he was wearing, and the position he
was standing in room. He actually wasn't standing directly on the
floor. He was raised up somewhat but yet it appeared as if he was
standing on solid ground but I saw nothing beneath his feet. And I
noticed he had shoes on with shoe laces. He was so ill before he died
that he no longer wore his shoes but had slip on leather house shoes he
wore.

immediately saw her sitting on my bed and she appeared possibly about as
she did when she was about 65, sort of as I remember her, and I was so
extremely surprised to see her so vividly. I am disabled including with
a non-functional left arm, but was able to hug her with both arms and
literally feel her by both arms around her neck and back. I told her I
love you and she softly smiled her usual way and disappeared. But I
felt her tell me yes before she left.
