Experience description:

Around Thanksgiving of 2006 I had asked Jerome to send me a sign or ADC that represented the year we met - 1988. Several weeks went by and nothing. I even went looking for something myself with that year on it - tried to find Christmas ornaments, anything with that year (I realize this may sound corny to some!)

On Christmas morning I opened up a gauze bag of chocolate foil coins sent to me by my mother from a chocolate shop in Canada that I happen to like. The coins had the year "1988" embossed on them. I checked with the chocolatier to see if '88 had any significance to the company as far as an anniversary. It doesn't. I spoke with my mom to find out if she knew anything. She replied that she didn't and just randomly chose the bag not thinking about the year.

I believe that this is an ADC. I first learned of Jerome's passing through an ADC five months after the fact. I was completely devastated. We were each other's first loves and our relationship ended badly. I carried regrets for many years about the way things ended despite going on with my life. The coins not only represent the year we met, but where we met - Canada. I live in the U.S. now, but grew up in Canada. I hope you enjoy this ADC. It is near and dear to my heart, just like Jerome was all those years ago. I have had many ADCs from him that I have journaled, but the Christmas coin one is the one I really cherish.
