I woke up about 7am Saturday morning and had some coffee. I then went back upstairs to read a little and dozed off for a while. I suddenly felt a presence in the room and when I opened my eyes my father was at the foot of the bed smiling at me.  He looked completely well and was dressed in a beige suit. He smiled and nodded and disappeared form view in seconds.  It was truly amazing. This is the second time I have had such an incident. I find it truly amazing and wonderful and comforting to know we are not gone forever.

The incredible part about this is I had my eyes open and he was there. It is mind boggling, truly.

Was this experience difficult to express in words? 

No

Did you see the deceased?        

Yes

My dad was wearing a beige suit. My mom informed after the fact that the only suit she kept of his is his beige suit from the Bar Mitzvah of my son.  He appeared in great health and younger than he was before he passed.

            How clearly did the deceased appear?            He appeared very clearly, very solid.  It was not an apparition like thing, not fuzzy at all.

            How much of the deceased did you see?       He was at the foot of my bed so I so haw from the waist up.

            Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?       He appeared much younger that 86.

            How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            He looked terrific and appeared tan and healthy. Prior to his death he did not look well at all.

            Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           What I saw was real. I didn't imagine this at all.

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?     

No

How long did the experience last?       

It lasted maybe 5 seconds...not long enough. He was there in a flash and then gone.

Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?        

He just seemed to appear and then disappear rapidly. It was so amazing. It is hard to explain really.

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?          

Yes

He smiled and had a twinkle in his eye. I almost got the feeling that he winked at me.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know? 

No.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?          

Experience was definitely real

            Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:         

I have always been a down to earth person. I would never dream of making up something like this. My father was a brilliant, loving man and we were very close. He knows that I would be a person to accept this and not be afraid. I was sick prior to his death and was in the hospital undergoing a stem cell transplant. I never had the chance to say good bye and was very upset about it. My brother told me that prior to his death all he did was ask for me and how I was. I feel he is letting me know he is okay and I feel much better as a result.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?  

No

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:          

I was so dumbfounded. I knew that my eyes were open and he was there. He just materialized before my eyes and was gone in a flash. It was really amazing. I WAS AWAKE!!!!!

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?          

Yes

I know he is trying to communicate to me and show me that we do not really die and that the spirit really lives on. I am convinced of it now.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?     

The best experience is that he looked so well. The worst thing is that he was gone in a flash and I lost him all over again.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?        

Yes

            Describe:     

I will continue to share this experience with others. I have on many occasions said prayers for my father and have asked him to give me signs he is okay. I believe he has done so.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   No

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?           

Yes

The person does not die...they just go to another place. My father has come back to me on two different occasions and I know for a fact that this is for real.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?         

No

What emotions did you feel during the experience?           

I immediately called my husband to come upstairs saying to him that I had just seen my father. It was so overwhelming that I was crying and full of emotion. I immediately called my mother and brother to tell them also.

Have you shared this experience with others?        

Yes

People seem to believe me. I really don't make things up. I pride myself on telling things like it is. People listen to me and seem to understand. I have also shared with some people to whom this has happened to and it is comforting to know I am not alone.

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?              

Yes

I have stated the exact truth as to what happened to me. I no longer fear death. We do live on. I love my dad for coming forth to me to show me this. He is so missed by me and the rest of our family.
