Experience description:

At my mother's service-behind the Hospice.  A minister conducted and he had Xeroxed sheets to follow with a rainbow across the corner of the sheet-at the very end of the service a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky and a large bird landed on the cupola that we were under.  About 30 people saw it.   A day after the service my 25 year old daughter pointed out that my mother's clock was broke in her car which we were using while in Florida-it had stopped at the time of her death.  The power went out in my sister's house as she was writing the bio for my mother's service.  The power went out at the Edward Jones office while my sister and I were discussing my mother's will and trust with her financial advisor, Dianne. A lot of light bulbs blew out in my and other close relatives homes for a couple of weeks.  The TV turned off while my husband and I were watching it about a week after her death.  Around the same time, I was painting at my kitchen table and listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio (my mother thought he was a pompous ass) I had to run to my husbands dental office with some papers pertaining to my mother's estate and didn't turn off the radio, when I got back it took me a while to realize that Rush didn't sound at all like himself and I thought maybe he had a bad cold-the station was on a different station.  My radio station has changed several times while driving.  The last time it happened, I said :cut it out Ma and it went back to my channel.  My sister is taking my Mom's death very hard and one day a couple of weeks after her death, Bonnie's cell phone rang but with a different song.  Thursday of this last week I told my Mom that I'm fine and that I really don't need more signs but that my sister could use one-I told her that Bonnie was happy with the ring tone incident and maybe she should do that again.  My sister emailed me and told me that on Thursday her ring tone rang the wrong tone again.  There have probably been other incidents that I'm not remembering right now as there have obviously been quite a few.  I did whisper into my Mom's ear that last day (she was in a coma) that I'd love for her to send me a sign as it would give me great comfort.  but I'm starting to feel that this is over-kill.  Is she just having a good time-which would be lovely-or is she trying to tell me something?

Was this experience difficult to express in words?

A couple of weeks ago I pushed my message machine and there was a call that was just static.  At the end of the recording I heard "Bink?"  in her voice.  I played it back and the word wasn't there.  My nickname has Been Bink since I was 2.

A soft touch in the small of my back about 3 times as I was falling asleep-thought it was my cat-turned the light on-no cat.

Was the touch familiar or unfamiliar?

Familiar as my cat sometimes noses me at nite if she's hungry

Was anything communicated by the touch?

Death Compacts are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies first will try to contact the other(s).  Have you ever made such a compact?

Just that I asked her to send me a sign.  I figured there might be one or two-but all these?

Sometimes people were present-sometimes not

Did you see a light?

No

Although, in her process of dying, I told her to go to the light.  I thought she was out of it at the time but without opening her eyes she said "do you have a book"? and I said "yes"  and she said "go read it"  So I went to the lobby and read my book.

Only the places I mentioned.

No

Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?

maybe.  I was near death at the age of 17.  Mono, hepatitis, strep throat and full blown sunstroke.  I truly believed that I was going-and it was OK.  But then I woke up a lot of hours later in the hospital and was surprised to be alive.

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?

Yes

Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.

Can you give me any input as to what if anything she's trying to tell me.  I do kind of get the feeling that she's having fun with a new toy.
