Experience description:

I had a dream that my friend who died worked at the hairdressing place that I go to (funny because he was an attorney). I walked in for an appointment and he was standing at the door and we locked eyes. His eyes were always so expressive. No words were spoken. I felt such a strong sensation the closer I got to him. Then these orbs of light and energy started coming off of him and I felt what seemed like pinging sensations all over my body. They felt so incredibly real. I can best describe these feelings as vibrations (pings) of joy, happiness and love coming from him.

Was this experience difficult to express in words? No

Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them? No

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased? No

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased? Yes

Vibrations (pings) of energy all over my body that felt like joy, happiness and love coming from him.

Was the touch familiar or unfamiliar? Unfamiliar

Was anything communicated by the touch? Yes, that he felt happy, joyful and free. And that he felt love towards me.

Is there any possibility what you felt was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience? No

Did you see the deceased? Yes

He looked slightly different than his normal appearance when he was alive. A little taller, but his eyes were exactly the same.

How clearly did the deceased appear? Solid but with a lightness around him.

How much of the deceased did you see? I don't remember seeing his feet but saw the rest of him.

Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died? Maybe a little younger.

How healthy did the deceased appear to be? Healthy, taller, thinner. He had a serious back injury that caused him severe and chronic pain.

Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience? No

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased? No

How long did the experience last? It seemed like only a few minutes.

Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden? I would say it ended abruptly after I felt the sensations on my body.

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased? Yes

Happy, joyful, full of love.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know? No

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience: I felt incredibly happy because it felt like a visitation dream. The physical sensations and the communication between us when we locked eyes was very comforting.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience? Yes

As mentioned in my last response, it was healing for me because he was a very important person in my life. And although I still struggle daily with his passing, I know he suffered during his life and I am happy he is free from that.

What was the best and worst part of your experience? The best part was the physical sensations of joy, happiness and love that I felt. The worst part of course, was realizing when I woke up that he was still gone.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? Uncertain Describe: It has just increased my desire to learn and explore more about the possibility of an afterlife and that my friend is still 'with me."

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes I am still not 100 percent convinced, but I do have more of a belief in the afterlife. Not only as a result of this dream, but also because I have been reading a tremendous amount on the topic.

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.? Yes My friend was very well read on physics, philosophy and religions. He spoke often about the 'creative force' at work in the Universe. I like to look at it that way rather than the traditional Christian view of who/what 'God' is. I am eager to learn all that I can about the possibility of an afterlife and I hope to continue to connect with my friend.

Death Compacts are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies first will try to contact the other(s). Have you ever made such a compact? No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later? No

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Very happy and peaceful. I was most happy because I took it as a sign that he was okay and free from his physical pain and also the depression that he had suffered from for years.
