Experience description:

At age 12 I was sleeping.  I thought I was dreaming about my grandfather's death but when I looked back over the way things went that day I realized that it wasn't a dream at all but was an out of body experience (OBE).  I recall the details vividly.  I was all of sudden in a hospital in the ICU unit.  I saw the monitors attached to my grandfather flat line and heard the emergency code for him.  I saw the nurses and doctors rush in and try to save him.  They did the paddle shocks on him but it was no use.  It was his time to move on to the next step.  I watched as his spirit floated out of his body and as he drifted off he looked over where I was looking on and smiled at me.  No one else was even aware that I was there.  I thought that was strange at the time.

My mother woke me for school and said I was hard to wake up.  I woke up somewhat confused as to what had happened and mom asked what was wrong.  I told her I had had a strange dream or something.  She asked me what it was and I wouldn't tell her at that time.  I went to school and 2 hours later mom was there to pick me up.  She told me that my grandfather had died at about 7 am.  I woke up at about 7:10 am that morning.  I told her she was kidding and she said no she wasn't.  Then I told her about the "dream" I had been having when she was trying to get me up for school and she said that yes he had died from heart trouble.

At the time it was kind of scary for me and yet was kind of comforting as well. When I was crying later after the funeral and things I woke up with my grandfather on my bed telling me it would be ok.  I know he was there because my door was closed when I went to sleep and open when I woke up.  When I asked mom about it she said no one had been up during the night to open.  That helped me better deal with the things that I had experienced and the things I continue to experience at times even now.

  Yes

I have dreams, OBE's and "feelings" when something is about to happen whether it's good or bad.  I have felt my best friends labor pains when she went into labor.  I know when my friends need to talk to me or just need time alone.  I follow my instincts about all things and now have been able to tell when something will be for a good benefit or a bad one

  Yes

      Describe:

I am not sure how they were influenced and some didn't believe me.  My mom treated it as a dream and said that she was sure that was what I believed happen.  It's not just a belief of what happened it's a knowing that that is what happened.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?

shock and curiosity.  i am still studying all kinds of things to better be in touch with my inner self.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?

The best part was I got to say goodbye and the worst part is that I lost my grandfather on the earthly plane, but he can still communicate with me when he wishes and I now know that he is always with me in my heart.  We don't really die we just change back to our spiritual selves and shed a body no longer needed for spiritual growth.
