Experience 2

Experience 1 description:

I was a Chemistry teacher at a private High School and had been sick with the flu for several weeks. So, when Rick went out the for the evening I took two sleeping pills and went to bed.

Thirty minutes later I was startled awake from a deep sleep by a dream. In the dream I saw Richards face and behind him was only blinding white light. He was grinning with the happiest smile I had ever seen. And let me tell you Richard had a smile and a personality that would light up a room when he walked in.

He looked straight at me from out of the dream and said with excitement "Mom! I'm okay Mom! I'm with GOD Mom! Mom, you have to wake up. You have to wake up and answer the phone."

I sat straight up in bed and turned to see the telephone on the night stand flickering. I had turned the ringer off so that I could get some much needed sleep. I answered the phone.  It was a policewoman calling to tell me there was a policeman at the door and would I please go let him in.

I threw on a bathrobe and got to the front door before my husband.  I remember the officer telling me that Richard had been in a very bad accident and had been airlifted to the hospital. I remember holding onto the officer's arm because I was afraid I was going to collapse. The policeman didnt know that Rick was already dead. My husband and I hit our knees on our front porch.

We quickly went into the house to rush to the hospital.  For some reason I grabbed the telephone and called the hospital.  The attendant told me my son had suffered blunt force trauma...  I knew this was very bad...  I asked if my son was alive.  He said that Richard had died on the way to the hospital.  He had bleed out in his abdomen from internal injuries and they couldn't stop the bleeding.

Was this experience difficult to express in words?

No

Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them?

No

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?

Yes

Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:

My son looked straight at me from out of the dream and said with excitement "Mom! I'm okay Mom! I'm with GOD Mom! Mom, you have to wake up. You have to wake up and answer the phone."

Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?

I heard his voice clearly just as if he was standing right next to me.

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?

It was exactly his voice.  Clear as a bell.

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?

no

Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?

No.  I am slightly deaf.  I heard him just fine.

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?

No

Did you see the deceased?

Yes

Want a picture?  After his death his dear friend, 2 doors down, gave me a photo of him.  It was that exact smile...  but on an older Richard.  Rick was almost a year older than in the picture.

How clearly did the deceased appear?            He was clear and solid

How much of the deceased did you see?       Just his upper body, head and shoulders

Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?       Exactly his present age

How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            He was beautiful.  He was a teenager still but didn't have a blemish or a fault.

Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           no way

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?

No

How long did the experience last?

maybe a minute

Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?

I don't know

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?

Yes

He was elated, excited, thrilled, with that look a child gets when he know what his parents have been telling him about (God and heaven) is really true.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?

yes.  I didn't know he was dead.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?

Experience was definitely real

Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:

I don't have a lot of recall of the weeks and days that followed his death.  I forgot that I had this experience, at the time of his death, and about a month later I saw it again while in the garden.  I'll submit another form for you about that.

My sister tells me I was certain that Richard was in heaven during the funeral.  She said that I told her what had happened and what I had seen.

Was the experience dream like in any way?

Yes

Of course, it was a dream.  I was asleep.  I was sound asleep with two (2) 5mg ambien.  I had NEVER taken 2 of those before but I was very tired and congested and needed sleep.

Ironic isn't it...  I got about 30 minutes sleep that night.  How I ever stayed awake I'll never know.

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:

I was frightened.  Very frightened.  I knew what I had just experienced but didn't want to believe it.  My husband couldn't believe that I called the hospital and then asked if our son was still alive.

I just knew he was dead.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?

No

Perhaps.  perhaps peace..  maybe a peaceful feeling in the certainty of his fate.  I didn't get hysterical till hours after it happened and didn't start screaming and freaking out till days later.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?

Well that's a no-brainer.  The worst was that my son had to die for me to experience it.  The best is that I know for certain that he is safe.  And that was my prayer for him for the three years prior to his death while he was the teenager-from-hell.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?

Yes
            Describe:

My husband and I sold our home, walked away from our jobs, and are learning to be together, just us two.  We are now seeking jobs that will not separate us with travel, weird work schedules, unwanted overtime.

We've left the San Diego lifestyle in our wake never to return.

I study my Bible every day.  I spend my time with my husband.  All my time.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
   Yes     Stronger faith in God.

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?

Yes     Well of course.  A certainty in an afterlife and belief in an invisible God is a plus for anyone.  I think Rick had a choice.  He was badly injured.  He may never have walked again . . .  his head was injured...  His legs and arms were badly broken . . . he had internal injuries.  If given a choice to return to earth and struggle through life as a cripple or to graduate to a corporeal existence . . .  he chose heaven.

Death Compacts are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies first will try to contact the other(s)Have you ever made such a compact?

No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?

No

What emotions did you feel during the experience?

The grief and shock of the death of my son far outweighed any feelings I had over the experience.  Frankly, I forgot about it for maybe a month and then had it again in broad daylight in my front yard.

Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?

No

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?

No

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?

No

Did you become aware of future events?

No

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         Yes  Apparently.  I had more than one experience.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?

No

Did you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?

Uncertain

Behind Richard was a blinding white light.

Did you see a light?

Yes

Funny you should ask...  Behind Richard was a blinding white light.

Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described above?

No

Have you shared this experience with others?

Yes     I get different reactions from different people.  I try to read the individual before I say anything.  If the person is struggling with grief, or if a family member is, or if they are just interested.

Many people are inspired and overwhelmed when I say he told me to answer the phone and it was the police.  50-75% of the people share similar experiences with me.

I try to inspire faith and hope in God by sharing this experience.  I think I do.

Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?

Yes

It's posted on the internet at http://www.geocities.com/showdeebear/index.html and I have shared it here http://webhealing.com/forums/index.php#1

I may have shared it other places.

Is there anything else you would like to add regarding your experience?       nope.

Were there any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?            No

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         No response

This question is hard to understand.  First, I have experience the event more than once.  However, It wasn't accompanied by the use of any medications or substances to reproduce the experience.

Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?           Yes

Well of course a Christian has had a spiritual event - I received the holy spirit in prayer during my conversion to Christianity and many times since then in prayer and worship.  No other near-death or out-of-body experiences.

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?               Yes

Experience 2 description:

I was gardening.  I had quit my job and was preparing to sell our home.  My husband had spoken to two separate individuals who claimed to have heard from and the other to have seen Richard.  I was grieving, crying, angry with God because I wanted to see him too.

I had suffered, unknowingly at the time, from a memory loss.  The experience of Rick's death and the funeral had overwhelmed me and my short term memory was impaired.  I still have a hard time with remembering things.

As I walked in front of the house with potted plants in my hands, sobbing, I was brought to my knees in a sobbing heap with an instant replay from God of the dream that I had the night my son had died.  Along with it I gained back much of my memory of the night and following weeks after Richard died.  I've had other flash-backs since then of other events surrounding Rick's death...  the funeral home etc.

What I saw was this:

I saw my son's, face above and in front of me and behind him was a blinding white light. He was grinning with the same thrilled smile I had seen the night that he died.

He looked straight at me from out of the vision and said with excitement "Mom! I'm okay Mom! I'm with GOD Mom! "Mom, you have to wake up. You have to wake up and answer the phone."

God answered my sobbing pleas and showed me that I, in fact, had been the very first person to see Rick after his death.  This was the same thing I had seen in a dream the night that Richard died.

Like this:  MOM! (loud like he was calling to me) I'm OKAY MOM! (emphasis on the Okay) I'm with GOD MOM!  (GOD said with emphasis...  I'm with G O D MOM!

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?

Well this was the second time I had seen this but until this moment I vaguely remembered the first time.  Now the whole thing came rushing back to memory.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?

Experience was definitely real

Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:

It was an exact replay of the first dream.

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:

Yes

Hard to explain.  My anger was gone.  But the grief was still there.  The hysteria and sadness.
