Experience description:

It seemed that I was dreaming that Jim Elliott sat on my bed and shook to wake me. In the "dream" I woke up and he told me "I have to go now, I need you to look after my sons, they won't know what to do, I need you to help them because you are stronger and you will know what to do, I have to go now, it's okay" Goodbye, (He had been in the hospital for 2 weeks following a stroke and had a heart attack as well, in the hospital- he was not very conscious and could not speak, they told his sons' that he didn't have much longer, in my dream-like state....he was healthy looking and could speak clearly) After this "vision" I woke up and looked at my alarm clock, it was about to go off, I shook the experience off and proceded to get in the shower and get ready for work. That was when my phone began ringing off the hook, Jim's ex-wife called me at around 7:30 and asked me to get ahold of her son, Steven (he lived down the street from me) because Jim had died...(around the same time that I was dreaming of his visit). I remember saying the words "I know" into the phone and I did tell her that he came to visit me that morning. I think she thought I was crazy. I got ahold of Steven, we all drove back to Massachusetts, met with his brother Jimmy, and began the long battle of getting things done...and Jim was right, his son's did not know what to do, the ex-wife tried to take advantage of them, but I was there to keep my promise and oversee that everything worked out.

Was this experience difficult to express in words?

No

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?

Yes

Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:

I felt him shake me to wake me up, I heard his voice clearly, I felt him sit on the edge of my bed and I saw his "figure" in front of me, he seemed translucent but I could clearly see him.

Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?

I heard him clearly, but it was kind of like I knew and felt what was being communicated, like I was hearing it inside of me rather than hearing with my ears. Hard to describe, there was a peacefulness in it all.

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?

it was HIS voice, but it had an ethereal feeling to it, a peacefulness, I can't describe, unlike regular talking it was more "other-worldly" and was feeling rather than sound....if that makes sense

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?

It was familiar in the sense that it did not hurt or scare me but was instead a comforting presence

Was anything communicated by the touch?

just to awaken me from what I remember, but doing so in Love
