Experience description:

Shortly after my wife passed I was struggling to redefine my place as being alone. it was very hard figuring out what to do with our big house, going through her things and packing them away or giving items of hers to her family, at this point it was just me and our dog, god bless that dog, she could read me like a book... after work sitting on the couch, I heard Cathy in the bedroom cough, not Cathy of course, she was dead, but it sounded like it, the dog jumped first!! hair on my neck and arms stood on end and chills ran through me like ice... I got up and walked to our room, stood in the door way and saw my wife standing across the room, in front of the TV, in her favorite church dress, arms down, eyes blue, hair done, smiling at me. LOOKING RIGHT AT ME!! she smiled shook her head "yes". I blinked and she was gone.

Was this experience difficult to express in words?          No

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?          Yes

Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:    Cathy was very sick prior to her passing. I was 100% caring for her. she had this cough... a "3 cough"  COUGH----COUGH, COUGH. even my dog jumped. it was her.

Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?  I was watching TV sitting on the couch down the hall from our room. I heard her in the bedroom.

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?           it was exactly the sound she made when she was alive.

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           I've thought about that. and tried to rationalize it. but it was just myself and my mutt in the living room watching TV. I thought maybe it was the program, but this came from our bedroom. no mistake.

Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?   no

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?            No

Did you see the deceased?         Yes

she was exactly like she looked in her favorite church dress when she was alive. she looked happy and healthy.

How clearly did the deceased appear?            somewhat transparent.

How much of the deceased did you see?       entire body

Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?       appeared to be same age, but not sickly

How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            oh yes, she was very sick when she died. honestly, and hope she's not reading this, but looked terrible... at one point in the hospital, a nurse thought she was my mother, but in reality, she was younger than me. but in my visit, she looked ravishing. healthy and happy

Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           nope.

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?      No

How long did the experience last?        seconds

Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?         very sudden

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?           Yes

she was happy, relieved I think. she wasn't sad or sick any longer.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?  not so much information, but, she didn't say it, but I knew after her visit it was ok for me to go through her things and pack them away.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real

Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:           I believe Cathy knew I was struggling and having a very difficult time letting go of her. prior to my experience I would sit and cry asking her to tell me she was ok, asking, begging, her to let me know what to do. after her visit, everything that seemed so confusing to me, was very clear.

Was the experience dream like in any way?   No

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:           for everything that was happening, trying to get a grip on my wife's passing, funeral, family... everything. for that brief moment. everything seemed to be clear to me. I saw sunshine.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?           Yes

Cathy was my life's energy while she was alive and healthy, heck, I couldn't keep up with her. her sickness made her very sad and depressed, her visit showed me that she was her old self again, it relieved me.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      beginning and end

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Yes                 Describe:            absolutely. I don't live to work anymore. I work to live. I enjoy sunrise, sunset, laughing and enjoying a day doing nothing, and I find new feeling for people, to need them, and be needed. a year after my visit, I was taken off blood pressure meds... tell ya something?

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes     I used to be a corporate monster. all go no quit squish the little guy type... not since then. I gave up a six figure job, big house, car, the works, only to find a life to enjoy with no pressure or stress. I like smiling in the mirror in the morning now. PRICELESS.

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?            Yes     made me realize without question, there is more beyond this life. and our heavenly father shows us the way. I have toyed around mediums, and other methods of communicating with the dead, but I head Gods warnings in the bible about doing such things, and, my visit was enough for me
