Experience description:

While my wife who is the care taker for my mother in law attended to her in the bathroom approximately 10 feet away from the couch. I heard a distinct breathing sound to my left in the hallway leading to the bathroom. The sound was loud and regular raspy breathing in and out.  It was exactly the same as the breathing sounds my Father In Law made before he passed away.  The sound was not moving around it was approximately 3 feet from me and to my left.  These sounds continued for a couple of minutes.  Loud and clear. At first I was startled and a little afraid.  But then after I made the connection in my mind to my Father in Law I asked him why he was still breathing like that and stated out loud 'Is that your way of letting me know it's you? You know you don't have to do that. Thank you but you need to go with Jesus now daddy.  We all love you and if you've come to check on Mom.  We have her and we will always take care of her.  Go with Jesus daddy.  I love you.'

 Was this experience difficult to express in words?          No

 Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them?        No

 Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?          Yes

             Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:            Loud steady raspy breathing.

             Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?      The same sounds of struggled breathing he made before he died.

             Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           No

             Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?   No

 Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased? No

 Did you see the deceased?         No

 Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?      No

 How long did the experience last?        3 minutes or so.

 Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?         Sudden.

 Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?           Yes

 I felt he was there to check on his wife.  My Mother in Law.

 Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?  No

 How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real

             Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:           I believe it was real due to the fact that the sounds never moved and were loud and clear.  I also believe it had a purpose and that was to check on his wife.  He was a gentleman and didn't intrude.

             Was the experience dream like in any way?   No

 What did you feel (while awake) immediately prior to your experience?            Relaxed          

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:           At first fearful but then reassured. I felt reassured because I knew he loved his wife greatly.

 Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?           Uncertain

 An element of the unknown was answered for me.  I feel grateful and peaceful.

 What was the best and worst part of your experience?      Knowing that his love remains and he wished to visit again.

 Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Yes                 Describe:            When uncertainty is removed a peace follows that is reassuring.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes     More certainty of life after death.

 Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?     No

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Peace.

 Was the experience witnessed or experienced by others?           No

 Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No

 Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    No

 Did you become aware of future events?       No

 Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?  No

 Did you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?            No

 Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described above?          No

 Have you shared this experience with others?        

Yes     Wife and family. Some are skeptical and others accept it.

 Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?            No

  Is there anything else you would like to add regarding your experience?       I just wished he had spoken to me. I think he breathed that way to let me know it was him and that if he could have he would have spoken out loud.

 Were there any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience? No

 Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         Yes 

A dream in which there were tiny swirling golden lights trying to form something. l

 Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?       Yes 

As a child I felt that I was floating in a yellow cloud and descended on the earth.  I once dreamed of travelling through space and time with a stranger whom I spoke with at length about the universes and I had felt very comfortable doing so we then returned to my home. I have also at times had premonitions of danger which proved correct. Perhaps it is because I may be sensitive? That he contacted me.
