Experience description:

This was within a couple of days after my loving mother had passed away on 12/24/2010. My mother was a wonderful person, and she loved us all a lot, and at only 56, she passed away too early. Her presence or correspondence was not directly with me, but with each of my two young children.

The first thing that happened was that I was at home sitting on my computer, and my 2 years and 10 months old daughter was playing next to me quietly. This was around 6:30 or 7:00 PM in the evening, and she must have been playing for 5 or 10 minutes. All of a sudden, my daughter just got up and said "Goodbye Daadi" (she called my mother Daadi which means Grandmother in our native language Urdu). Then she went and closed the room door. I just sat there in shock, and I knew instantly that she was playing with my mother. She was in the room and had just now left. I tried asking my daughter a few questions, but being a young child, she didn't really say much.

After a little while, I went to the bedroom, and being tired, I dozed off. All of a sudden, I woke up feeling really peaceful and relaxed, and realized that my son, who was 5 years old, was sitting there massaging my feet. Now I used to really enjoy getting foot massages from my mom, and I used to ask her to do that a lot. My son really never did that, even though I used to ask him to do it at times too (he hasn't done it since this incident either). So I was really surprised. He was doing a really great job too, and it reminded me of how my mom used to massage my feet, so I asked him why are you doing that. And he said that "Allah (God) told him to do so".

I was really surprised to hear that response, and I asked him what do you mean? He said that "Allah (God) was right there, and she told me that if I do this to my father, he will really like it, and it will make him happy". He explained more that "She spoke to him in a very soft voice, and that she was standing right there" and he pointed besides the bed. He said that he couldn't see her, but he could listen to her in his head and she talked to him in a soft and loving voice, and explained how to do the foot massage.

My son was referring to what he saw or heard as God, but he kept saying "she" and I immediately knew that it was my mother who had spoken to him.

He then said that Allah told him that "When we are all asleep at night, Allah comes down and she will hide something that we love". I am not sure what this means, but I think he meant to say people who we love are not gone, but they are just hidden from us. He then said a lot of sweet things about loving your parents and loving your family and how he was grateful for us and how he loves us. My wife was also there when my son was telling describing this incident, and she also said he was talking about my mother.

Even though I didn't directly saw or heard my mother, but the feeling I had at that moment was so intense that I can hardly describable it in words. Knowing my mother and my kids, I know that my mother had communicated to me through my kids that she is fine and has passed on. This incident actually helped me cope much better with losing her, as after that I knew that she is there on the other side, and I will meet her again after I pass away.
