I woke up around 3am because of a strong floral scent; I could not place the scent, although it seemed to be like some type of lily; it was not a familiar smell to me....it was very strong and I wondered if it was from the spirit of my mother who passed that morning.  I told my daughter and husband about the experience the next morning.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real

            Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:           I remembered the experience and told my family in the morning; I wanted to believe it was what I wanted to for my own comfort; the aha moment for me was when my dad told me a few days later that he woke up in the middle of the night from the strong smell of flowers....around the same time I was woken up

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:           during the experience I was initially trying to determine the origin of the scent.....I knew it was not from me as I showered that night and did not have any lotion on....I then noted that it was not any of the scents of the perfumes I use and knew....then I wondered if it might be my mother visiting me....I had a sense of peace, and then went back to sleep

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?           Yes

after my dad shared with me that he experienced the same thing (I did not tell my father about my experience until he told me a few days later about his) I felt a confirmation that indeed my mom wanted us to know that she was OK and passed over

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      best part was feeling of peace

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   No       Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?  Yes     I have since read of other accounts of visitations and feel that there is an afterlife and we do pass on to another realm; I am curious about this journey, and a little fearful as it is the unknown

I made a compact with a person I loved in this life, but unable to be together at the time, that we would come back in another life so we could share our love as we felt we were meant to.  I never had a compact with my mom; in fact we never discussed death or spiritual aspects of life

I woke up around 3am because of a strong floral scent; I could not place the scent, although it seemed to be like some type of lily; it was not a familiar smell to me....it was very strong and I wondered if it was from the spirit of my mother who passed that morning.  I told my daughter and husband about the experience the next morning.  On 3/13/13 I was having lunch with my father and we were recalling the past week of being with my mom, and the funeral etc.  He than said a strange thing happened to him, and he shared with me that he was woken out of a sound sleep the night my mom passed by a strong floral scent....I was immediately confirmed in my assumption and shared the same experience I had with him....we both felt a feeling of peace

I had a vivid dream years ago about a future event involving an old friend of mine; She was in a foreign country crying out for help.....It happened that she was home visiting and I was able to speak to her (I had not seen or heard from her in over 10 years) two weeks after the dream, an earthquake happened in Mexico City where she lived, but this friend was safe
