Experience description:

I had turned all but 1 light off in the apartment prior to going to sleep on the night of the 17th. At approximately 2:15am I was awakened by a loud pull-click of ceiling fan chain. I turned my head towards the sound to see the kitchen had been flooded with a soft pale green light. I rolled over thinking that I was dreaming, and began to hear sounds in the apartment living room such as glass falling, picture frames falling and vases hitting the floor. I sat up in bed and took my shirt off as I had began to sweat profusely, but refused to believe that someone was in the apartment. I rolled on my side to face the kitchen and noticed that the pale light was gone. I thought to myself this is creepy it sounds like someone is in the apartment. It was then that I thought, wouldn't it be scary if someone walked by.

This is when I saw it what appeared to be a man walking past my bedroom door. I began to scream, but it didn't leave the apartment, it didn't trip on the clutter of boxes that I had in the hallway, I could not hear its footsteps. I called the police and continued to scream. I didn't hear the door open as it had a loud plastic sweep at the foot of the door to block draft. The door handle simply clicked and I felt it gone. Prior to this experience I had been experiencing strong male perfume odor in my apartment when ever I came home. Lights that I had left off were on, and when I left them on over night they were off in the morning. My glasses were completely twisted at the nose bridge and arms one morning after I left then on the coffee table the night before.

On the night of the incident I asked my ex husband to come pick me up as the experience had frightened me so. On the second night at my ex's apartment I woke up to my fathers who sat beside me in bed with one hand on my hip and the other stroking my forehead as he did many nights when I was a kid after coming home from a night out. His touch was soft like silk, and not at all cold, nor was it warm. It was simply a feather like touch with sufficient weight for me to feel his touch. It was completely comforting and peaceful. I opened my eyes and could feel his phantom touch and I said hello daddy. I miss you and I love you so much.  I felt so much peace and comfort.

On the night of the intrusion I plugged in my cell phone in the kitchen, and went to the living room to turn the lamp off and I heard my father's voice in my head clear as if he had been standing next to me and he said, "Sonia, always leave a light on" I turned the lamp back on. I then got my phone off the kitchen counter and plugged it next to the night stand, because the voice again told me; "tonight may just be the night that you need it. I believe that my father saved my life that night. What I can't be positively sure of is what he saved me from. I am not yet able to say for sure if what I saw and heard in my apartment on that night was a living man or something else. What I do know was that theft was not the intention. I also know that something personal was stolen and my father's hair was moved from where I put it and tucked away behind his parent's photograph in my photo album. I am pretty sure that moving the hair was my father's way of letting me know that he was indeed there on the night of the intrusion. Demon, spirit, ghost or flesh I will never know the origin of the other being in the room, but it was not my father.23
