Experience description:

My wife passed away on November 2, 2000. To this day I am still very much in love with her. On or about the 10th anniversary of her death I was laying on the couch watching TV feeling tired and getting drowsy, but still awake enough because I was still watching TV when I heard a distinct whisper in my left ear that said these 5 exact words, "Help me if you can". Everyone said I dreamed it or it was all in my mind, so I half way dismissed it.

Evening of January 31, 2011 I made myself a glass of iced tea and was watching TV, I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up the next morning and immediately saw a 2-liter plastic bottle of Coke on the coffee table in front of me. But I had iced tea that night, not Coke. I got up to go into kitchen to make coffee. On the way into kitchen I say the refrigerator door ajar about 3-4 inches. I put the Coke back in the refrigerator and stuck my hand more inside to see how cold it still was, about half of what it should have been. That prompted me to check the freezer to see if anything had thawed out. I open freezer door and saw a teaspoon, a tablespoon and both beaters from my hand mixer laying on top of the ice in the ice bin. I did not put those items in the freezer and Nobody else could have done it, I live alone and have not had any visitors in my home since January 28th. Nobody was able to get into my house, doors were locked and only I have keys. None of the items were in the refrigerator the evening before when I got the iced tea and put ice into the glass. I did not drink any coke, nor have I ever taken a 2-liter bottle into my living room and put it on the coffee table.

I did not see any of this happen or who or what did it because it was done while I was asleep. I have never had any problems with sleep walking and I can honestly say there is absolutely no way I could have done this and forgotten that I did it. unfortunately I am the only witness, but this really happened.

I do not know for sure it is my deceased wife, but she is the only person who has ever lived in this house that is deceased. I suspect this was done on to get my attention because I did not pursue the whisper I heard. Whoever did it certainly has my undivided attention now. I am convinced 100% someone is trying to make contact with me.

So far nothing else has happened, but I am keeping an eye on everything.

I figure if a ghost can move objects and whisper in my ear, maybe they can also read, so I have posted large bold type notes all over the house that I am now aware, that I am no threat to them and want to communicate.

Was this experience difficult to express in words?  No

Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them?            No

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?          Yes

Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:    I heard a whisper in my left ear that was so clear and distinct while laying on the sofa that I immediately raised up to a prone position, felt my hair stand up and a chill down my spine because I knew nobody else was in the house but me.

Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?  I cannot be 100% positive, but I swear the whisper was externally and not in my mind. Usually you don't get a chill down your spine or feel your hair stand on end when you hear something in your mind or from a dream.

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?           I cannot be certain because it was a whisper and they can be made to sound either male or female, but I tend to believe it was a female whisper. It was

said very faint, but distinct and clear.

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           I thought of that also. I was watching TV (actually a movie on DVD) so I backed up the DVD to see if those words were spoken.  They were not on the DVD.

Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?   No impairment

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?            No

Did you see the deceased?         No

Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           Did not see anything, only heard the whisper

Saw items in my freezer and on coffee table

Absolute no possible way for any living person to do this.

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?      No

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?           Yes

Whisper was asking me for help. Sounded very sincere.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?  no other verbal communication or information

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real

Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:           Whereas a whisper can be in explained that may have in your imagination, seeing objects that were put in places I would never have put them is undeniable and absolute proof, especially when I know for a fact I could not have done it and nobody else could have done it.

Was the experience dream like in any way?   No

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:           I used to be very fearful of death because I was convinced there was nothing else after death and because I had no evidence that the afterlife existed. You hear someone tell of it, but no matter how they try to convince you, you will still be skeptical. Since I have now experienced something I still fear death, but I am relieved to know that my life-long question was finally answered, that there REALLY is something to look forward to after death.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?           Yes

I have always feared death, I do not want to leave this earth, but I now know for sure my journey is not near it's end, but just beginning.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      Seeing absolute proof an afterlife exists.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes     Attitude toward death, that nothing else exists past that.

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?            Yes     Totally convinced the afterlife really does exist.

Death Compacts are when two or more living people promise among themselves that whoever dies first will try to contact the other(s).  Have you ever made such a compact?        Uncertain

Told my wife jokingly on many occasions that if she died she would probably come back to haunt me. If this is her the statement is now true.

I wouldn't say a "haunting" now, which is a bad thing, but in a good way.

She is asking for my help and I want to help her.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Somewhat scared because I have never actually experienced something like this.

But also joy especially if it is my deceased wife wanting to communicate with me. It could be someone else, but feel it is her.
