Experience description #1:

My son passed away Oct 20, 2014. I had been dying my hair for years to cover the gray. At this time, I decided that it was something I didn't care about anymore, and was not doing it. I felt like part of me had also died, and didn't care anymore about dying my hair, or make up.... just didn't matter. On this day, I was looking at myself in the mirror, after just drying my hair. And after six months or so, I was seeing how gray my hair really was under the brown dye. In the front, there is a very white patch. I was looking at it, and said out loud, 'I like the white part... I feel ancient. Ian, you wouldn't even recognize me now!'  And I heard 'Ma! I see you every day!' In his voice, in his tone, with the same style of sarcasm. It was instant, no time for me to think it up.

It made me laugh. I hadn't laughed much in months.....

I felt like I was floating, my feet didn't seem to touch the floor. I used the bathroom, went back to my room. As I got in bed, I felt like I was climbing back into myself. It was so weird, that it woke me up fully. And then I realized I still felt the need to go to the bathroom. So I got up, and this time felt my feet on the floor. The toilet was still "running' from being flushed the first time, but I went again. And it was as if I hadn't gone, I still needed to. Looking back, I wonder if it was an "out of body" experience.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION #2:

While I was asleep, I looked up and saw Ian. Other people were in the background of the room, my grown kids and maybe a grandchild or two; they were not the focus, but they were there. Ian walked toward me, we stood face to face. I was looking at his big brown eyes, and a single tear came from his left eye and down his cheek, while he smiled at me. I reached up and put my hands on his face, and with my thumb I brushed away the tear. We put our arms around each other and hugged.

The feeling was so real, it woke me up. I could still feel the touch. I laid down to go back to sleep....

As soon as I fell asleep, I was 'dreaming' that I was sitting on the floor in the living room. The 'background' people from the first 'dream' were there also, playing a board game on the floor, and my brother (whom I have not seen in almost 20 years) was with them. Ian was lying across the back of the couch looking at me. I saw him, and talked with him, all while the others in the room did not interact with him but continued chatting and playing their game. Ian said to me 'thank you for sewing my pants' I saw a vision of the pants and the sewing, but it wasn't something that really had happened. I asked him, 'do you remember the last time you wore those pants?' He said, 'Yes, at my funeral.' He seemed happy and content.

Then I woke up again.
