Experience description:

in my dream my i was laying on a van floor, my feet and hands were tied and i was struggling to free my self. i could feel the van moving at a high rate of speed. i knew there were people in the van with me but i could not see their faces. i could only see the floor of the van. suddenly the van door opened and they pushed me out and i had rolled down an embankment that led to a pond. suddenly i was free, i looked to the right of me and their stood my sister. she looked so sad. she said nothing to me she just pointed towards the water. i looked over and i saw two men next to the water looking down at something and writing in a note pad. something told me to walk over to were they stood. as i approached i noticed something on the ground. as i got closer i realized that it was my sister, she was all swollen and she had a one piece purple bathing suit on. she had bruises on her neck and temple. i started to cry and shake, i looked back to where my sister was standing and i could see her shaking her head from side to side. then i woke up.

Was this experience difficult to express in words?  No

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?          Yes

Describe what you heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:   although she had not moved her lips, i could hear her voice in my head saying that her death was not an accident, that it did not happen as they said it did.

Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?  i just knew what she was saying and feeling.

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?           it sounded exactly as her voice.

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           no

Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?   no

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?            No

Did you see the deceased?         Yes

i just remember seeing her face to the right of me, she looked fine, except for the expression on her face was really sad.

How clearly did the deceased appear?            solid

How much of the deceased did you see?       just her face, to the right of me. but when i walked down to the edge of the water i saw her whole body.

Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?       she was the same age. she looked exactly the same age.

How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            when she was standing to the right of me she looked fine. but when i saw her body at the edge of the water, she was greenish blue , she was really swollen and she had purple bruises on her right side of her face.

Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           no

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?           Yes, she seemed very sad.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?  yes, after the dream i had talked with some family members who was there at the time of my sisters death. my niece who had gone to identify her body broke down when i had described the dream i had. she said everything was exactly as i had dreamed. right down to the color of her body to the bruises and the color bathing suit she was wearing.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real

Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:          when my sister died i could not return home for her funeral. i never viewed her body, and they had a closed casket at the time of her funeral. no family members viewed her body at all except for a niece who went to identify her at the morgue. upon talking to family after the dream i learned that the day my sister died, she had left my mother's house in a white van, with some friends. my mother never saw who was in the van. my mother just remembers her leaving in tee shirt and a pair of jean shorts.  my mother never saw the color of her bathing suit. my niece was the only one to see that when she saw the body. she could not bring herself to speak to anyone on how my sister looked when she viewed her body. so it was a shock to her when i described everything in vivid detail.

Was the experience dream like in any way?   No

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:           at first i was frightened in the dream, than i was confused. when i saw my sister pointing towards the water i knew that she was trying to tell me something.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience?           Uncertain

i was relieved to have her show me what had happened, but i felt i could not take the sadness that i had saw on her face away. i felt she showed me this because it was the way she had died, and not the way it was reported.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      the best part of it is that i know she is somehow still there. the worst part of it is the information that she gave me in the dream i have no way of acting on it.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Yes

Describe:      i try to be more aware of me surroundings. more aware of certain things that cant be explained.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          Yes

the color of her bathing suit, and then when i requested a copy of her death certificate. and talking with the only person who had viewed her body.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            i finally felt that i knew what had happened to my sister. and that it wasn't an accident, i felt that she tried her best to show me how it happened.

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes

i felt as if i was feeling every emotion she had felt that day.

yes at first i felt that i was flying home, but not in a plane. my body was actually flying in the air.

Yes

my niece was shocked. so much so that she broke down and could not speak. she could not explain nor comprehend how i had this information when she had never spoke of it.

Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?   No

Is there anything else you would like to add regarding your experience?       after this dream i had several dreams that were with deceased relatives. and i had awaken to find that they had just died that night, or they came to tell me something.

Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?           Yes

yes, i had a dream that i was standing at the edge of the ocean and people were walking by me, they were in white robes. they were able to walk across the water to an island that was in the middle of the ocean. when i tried to step on the water i sank. i kept trying over and over to walk on the water but it wasn't working. a man that i never saw before walked by me, he stepped on the water, and he turned his head and smiled towards me, and said it wasn't time yet.  i woke up that morning and thought that the dream was just that a dream. i ran errands that day, and one of the errands was for me to drive across the long beach bridge, i drove about 70 to 80 miles per hour. i drove there and back. i picked up my husband later that day, when he got into the car and we started driving he heard a noise coming from the drivers side of the car. he said something was wrong with the tire and to pull in to a tire shop. when they lifted the car they had found a bubble on the inside of the tire, the attendant looked at me and his words were, your lucky, you heard the noise, if you would of been doing over fifty, you would of had a blow out and lost control of the car, who ever was driving could of been killed. i smiled and said that i had been driving the freeway all day, and even took the bridge, doing 70 to 80. he shook his head in amazement and said i was very lucky, i said no. it just wasn't my time yet.
