Experience description:

I remember going to sleep normally that night, and early in the morning I dreamed of my grandmother. I’m sure of this because I woke up right after that dream.

In the dream, which I still remember very vividly, my grandmother was at her house. “Below” — I live in an apartment building with most of my relatives, typical Italian situation — I was at my grandmother’s house, which is now my uncles’ house, her sons’. I was opening the fridge in the kitchen, and from the kitchen I could see the living room because it’s very close, there is no door or wall separating them. My grandmother gently sat down on the blue sofa in the living room. She was young, about 30 years old, and I calmly said to her, “How are you, grandma? Is everything okay?” and she replied, “I’m fine.”

The point of this dream, which I know may sound trivial, is the overwhelming sense of absolute peace I felt immediately after it, and for weeks afterwards. It was an indescribable, very strong peace, much more intense than anything I had ever felt in my life before. I felt it was coming from within me, but also connected to something else. After my grandmother told me, “I’m fine,” I woke up, and the sense of peace was already there immediately after the dream.

I was able to “recall that peace” for several weeks after that dream.

Another interesting thing about this dream is that afterwards I imagined that my connection with the invisible world would be reduced. I had had paranormal experiences and I couldn’t tolerate them anymore. I imagined an attic opening onto a starry sky, and that this was my connection with my grandmother’s world.
