Experience description:

My Grandmother was the hospital for a short period of time and the doctors told us she didn't want any surgeries and that she was in pretty good health for her age and she should live for quite a while. My mother took a leave of absence from work and grandma came home on a Thursday night. I went and visited her with my two children, Jenny 4 and Joey 1. Joey would not stop crying when she held him. Grandma was on oxygen and kept telling us while patting her stomach that she was empty and that was good. I cried all the way home, not knowing why. The next morning I got the call while I was at the hairdresser that grandma had died. I got over there as soon as I could, but her body was already taken to the mortuary. So I was sitting with my mother and aunt as described above. My grandmother and I would sit together on the couch while we watched our soap operas and she had the habit of patting my knee. As I mentioned before my mother had just said she felt something and at that exact moment I felt my knee being patted and I looked down and saw nothing. But right then I felt this incredible rush, feeling, spirit, whatever you want to call it go through my body and up towards the ceiling. The feeling was one of incredible joy, happiness, peace, love, etc. don't have the words! I actually thought I had put my arms up to go with her, but didn't according to my aunt. She was free is what she was telling me, she hated her body at the end.

To this day it was like it happened yesterday. I can still feel that feeling and no one can tell me that that wasn't my grandmother. I really had a hard time with it at first. It actually scared me and no one really believed me but my mother.  When we went to view her body I was obsessed with letting everyone know that she was not here and gone, free! So for months I was going around confused and then I found Moody's book on NDE and it helped me to understand what I had experienced. Grandma was saying good bye and don't worry about me. I have told my story to a few people and a few patients of mine, only when felt led, so it feels good to send it to people who get it. Thank you, Becky
