I was napping.  Sunday afternoon 3 pm.  Husband sitting across in a chair reading.

I awoke and sat up to see my recently deceased father standing next to the sofa, in front of me.   He was accompanied by what I perceived to be an escort.   I could not directly look at the escort, but sensed their presence.   It felt male.   My father spoke to me and I was happy to see him.   I exclaimed, 'Tell me what it's like.'   He responded with a gesture of raising both hands and shaking them, as if to say, 'I don't have time for that.' which was a gesture he frequently made.   He was dressed in the way he was frequently dressed when alive, in a 'wife beater' t shirt.   I asked him if I could smell him.   He and I would frequently sniff things prior to consuming them.   He extended his bare forearm.  I sniffed.   Smelled nothing.  He said a few more things that I cannot recall.  I was happy to see him and it made me very happy.   As soon as he left, I 'woke up' and sat up and immediately said to my husband, 'DID YOU SEE THAT? !!!'    But of course, he did not.

Was this experience difficult to express in words?     No

Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them?      No

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?          No Response

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?         No

Did you see the deceased?       Yes

Looked as he did when alive, wearing a white wife-beater t shirt.   Looked just like him!

            How clearly did the deceased appear?            Very clearly, very solid.

            How much of the deceased did you see?       All of him.

            Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?           Appeared to be at the age he died, which was just within the year prior.

            How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            Seemed perfectly healthy.

            Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?   Don't think so.

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased? No

How long did the experience last?      It seemed like a couple of minutes.

Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?       No.   He was just 'there' and then 'gone'

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?          Yes

I had the sense that he bugged the 'escort' to allow him to visit, and that he had been allowed only a few minutes and then 'time was up'

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?  No

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?          Experience was definitely real

          Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:   You had to be there.....it was REAL.    He was there and I saw him and spoke to him.

          Was the experience dream like in any way?  No

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:  It was great to see him.   Not scary and I was happy.   I had a lot of questions but he couldn't stay to answer.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience? No

What was the best and worst part of your experience?          No worst part.   It was all good.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? No     

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

Did you meet or see any other beings other than the deceased?   Yes

there was an 'escort' standing behind and slight to his right, awaiting.   I couldn't directly 'look at' the escort but knew he was there.

Did you see a light?        No

Did any part of your experience seem to occur in a place other than the location described above?     No

Have you shared this experience with others?      

Yes    Hard to tell if others were influenced, but I have told many.

Have you shared this experience formally or informally with any other researcher or web site?         No

Were there any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?          No

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?       No 

Did you ever in your life have a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event? Yes
