Experience description:

Carl: I was sleeping. My father had been ill for 2 yrs and losing the battle with stomach cancer. He was on hospice care and at home. I'd spent a week at his home helping my step-mother care for him and just being with him in general. I'd decided to go home that night to be with my own husband and son and at 3am my dad came to me - it was much more real than a dream. He stepped out from behind a stand of pine trees dressed in a white robe and appeared to be in his 20-30's and very healthy - not in the cancer-riddled state I'd just left him in hours earlier. He said 'Don't worry sweetheart, everything is going to be ok. I love you.' Then he stepped behind the trees. I sat up calling out 'Dad, come back.' My husband woke up and I shared what'd happened. Three days later on the day of the funeral, I followed the procession to the cemetery and we took our seats under the tent. I looked over to my right and saw the exact stand of pine trees.

Zack: I had received a call from my daughter-in-law at 2:45am on Saturday morning Jul 30, 2011 stating my son had been in a terrible accident and that he was being life-flighted to the trauma unit and that she'd call when she got there. I called my sister who rushed to my home. We were sitting on my back deck awaiting my daughter in law to call when my son spoke to me - to my soul from his soul. He said "Momma, I'm so sorry." I told my sister that I had just received a message from Zack that he had passed and immediately my cell phone rang. It was a Georgia State Trooper telling me that my son had just been pronounced - that he didn't make it to the life-flight. They couldn't save him. I haven't had any messages since from either.

Was this experience difficult to express in words?  No

I knew the definitely it had happened. The best way to describe it was my father and son's soul spoke to my soul. It was so deep inside of my head and body.

Did you ONLY sense an awareness of presence of the deceased without actually seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling them?

N0 comment

Did you hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?          Yes

Did the voice or sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not hear a voice or sound, but had a sense of knowing what was communicated?  It's hard to explain. They were inside of my head - a part of me.

If you heard a voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the deceased made when they were alive?           It was each of their voices.

Is there any possibility what you heard was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           No.

Was there any possible impairment to your hearing at the time of the experience?   No.

Did you feel a touch or experience any physical contact from the deceased?            No

Did you see the deceased?         Yes

I saw my father but I did not see my son. My son was in another city approx 4 hours away.

How clearly did the deceased appear?            My father was crystal clear, very healthy and happy. Very loving and compassionate he had a white aura surrounding him.

How much of the deceased did you see?       I saw from his head down to about mid-way. He was standing behind a shrub/tree.

I didn't see my son.

Did the deceased appear or not appear to be the age at which they died?       My father did not appear at all the way I'd left him hours earlier. He was approx 30 years younger and extremely healthy. So healthy in fact that it's hard for me to ever remember him looking so vibrantly and full of life.

How healthy did the deceased appear to be?            See above.

Is there any possibility what you saw was from any other source present in the surroundings at the time of your experience?           No.

Did you smell a distinct smell, scent, fragrance or odor associated with the deceased?      No

How long did the experience last?        Father, about 2 minutes.

Son, just long enough to say 'Momma, I'm so sorry'

Was the beginning and end of the experience gradual or more sudden?         Same

Could you sense the emotions or mood of the deceased?           Yes

Yes, my father was joyful and assuring.

My son was remorseful.

Did the deceased give you information you did not previously know?  No.

How do you currently view the reality of your experience?           Experience was definitely real
