Thursday, September 16, 2021, My mother-n-law passed away at the age of 53. She had battled a courageous, yet short battle with cancer. We had been expecting her passing for a few weeks as she was sent home on hospice. However, my husbands uncle who was very close to her and my father in law had been speaking with another family member about trying to make it down to see her before her passing. He was very visibly upset and said he didn’t think he would make it. Minutes later he collapsed from a heart attack while at work. He passed September 13th, 2021. The family was unsure if we should tell Kellye. My father n law was worried this would upset her in her last days. Ultimately my father n law told her. She passed the next day. After we buried our lost loved ones we were trying to get back to normal. However, we had yet another unexpected passing. My brother-n-law passed on October 3,2021. He was 38 years old, healthy male. After his passing his wife took it very hard. We then lost Ashley on June 1,2022.

Previous to Ashley’s death she had a 'dream' that Kellye (our mother n law who had pasted) came to her front door. To my understanding this was her way of knowing she would be coming back for her. The evening that Ashley passed we had been at her home most of the day with her. We came home to have dinner with our kids. My husband and kids were in the living room and I was in the kitchen next to my husband’s phone. The phone rang and when I looked down to see who it was the caller id had my mother-n-laws name show up. I was confused at first and husband asked who is it? I picked up the phone and turned the phone so he could see and I said, 'it says Kellye is calling. What do I do?!' He said, 'answer it.' When I picked up the phone it was my father-n-law calling to tell us Ashley had passed.

The strange thing about this is my father-n-law and mother-n-laws cell phones were never connected. They had completely different plans and cell phone carriers. Also, in my husbands phone her name was listed as 'KK-Kellye' and after the call when we checked the call log the call showed his name 'David.' There is no earthly explanation why her name would show up. It brought peace to my husband and I that that was Kellye telling us that she had Ashley and they were all okay and back together.

After this happened we told my father-n-law. Unknown to us my husband’s other sister had gotten a call about two weeks prior with a very similar story. However, this to her was a sign that she needed to let her dad know he needed to get to town because Ashely’s health was fading fast. Because of this call he was able to make it down the last few weeks of his oldest daughter’s life.

Kellye was always watching out for everyone and had a big heart. We just know her soul was still here to help guide us all in this very difficult time.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Yes  My sister-n-law was at home on hospice.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?      The entire time

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   Confused yet peace and then happiness that I had the experience.

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   Uncertain   I didn’t not really encounter her I just felt she was there saying everything was ok. I didn’t see her.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual   When I saw her name on the screen I felt like time had slowed down but it was also happening so fast. I was confused and scared of who would be on the other end of the line when I answered yet also scared I might miss the call if I did t hurry and answer. It’s difficult to explain.

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge or purpose?   Yes   I just felt that it was her way of saying we got her and she is okay. She isn’t hurting anymore and we are all back together.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was entirely consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   I have always hopes there was some kind of 'life' after death and that our spirits are still here with the ones we love. I feel this was validated to those beliefs.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience   It is something I will never forget. I almost feel I can stand in the same spot and relive it.

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Yes   I began going back to church more and being more open to discussing religion, death and life after death with my children.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   No  

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     Yes, I feel the whole experience was meaningful to me. I feel lucky to have been the one to physically see her name on the caller id and I just feel that it really helped bring me more peace after the loss of so many family members that I didn’t get to say goodbye to.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  My husband and I shared it within days of it happening to my father-n-law. He was quiet and stoic to us but he did cal and tell his other daughter who in turn called us immediately and asked us to share the story and then she shared hers with us. It was a welcome story to all who heard.

My father tried to explain it off as technology crossing but I know it was impossible.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   Yes  

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   I viewed it as an amazing real experience that brought me peace in a difficult time.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   It was real. I experienced it with both my husband and two kids. We all experienced it.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   I know now my father isn’t sure about life after death which is weird because we have another experience that happened between his sister and father. But I do feel it has strengthened me and my husband’s relationship a bit and how we handled Ashely’s death vs the other deaths.   Uncertain

Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   I now attend church more with my kids and have started listening to the Bible again.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?   No     

Did the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?   Yes   I feel these questions have also made me think about it my experience a bit more and I appreciate that.
