My father died in 1991. About 1 or 2 years later, I was standing in the kitchen of the home my husband and I had recently purchased, looking at the telephone mounted on the wall. Suddenly, and for no apparent reason, I felt my father's energy beside me. I don't know how I knew it was my father, but I just implicitly understood it was him. The next thing I knew, I felt his energy enter my body from the side and permeate every atom of my being. It was very weird! I never told anyone about it because it seemed wacky and people would think I was losing my grip on reality.
Fast forward about 15 or 20 years. I'm living in the same house, and my in-laws have come for a visit. My father-in-law (Tom) is sitting on the sofa, reminiscing about his own father. Completely out of the blue, Tom related how, shortly after his father's death, Tom felt him enter HIS body. He described almost the exact same experience I'd had previously, except Tom father's energy entered him from the head down.
Even as I type this, it seems so freaky. But the fact that Tom and I independently had almost identical experiences has stuck with me.
I still don't know what to make of it! Nothing discernable ever resulted from the experience, as far as I can tell. I'd like to think my dad gave me his wisdom, or patience, or sense of humor in the process, but sadly, I don't think he did.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience? I was completely alert, not distracted. It was the middle of the day.
Was the experience dream like in any way? Not really.
Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body? No
What emotions did you feel during the experience? I was a little scared, wondering "what is happening to me?"
Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises? No
Did you see a light? No
Did you meet or see any other beings? Yes It was my father, who had died 1 or 2 years earlier.
Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? No
Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later? Yes As I mentioned previously, my father-in-law later described an eerily similar experience he'd had.
Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? No Did you have any sense of altered space or time? No
Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose? Yes Somehow, I knew my father was there beside me, even though I could not see him.
Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure? No
Did you become aware of future events? No
Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body? No
Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience? Uncertain I didn't gain or have any other special gifts that I'm aware of. But my son did! My son was born in 1997, about five years after I'd had this strange experience with my father's energy. When my son was little, he read my mind many times! The first couple of times he did it, I thought it was coincidence. But it happened so often, I decided it had to be more than mere happenstance. I believe he outgrew this ability, although he remains pretty intuitive as an adult. I was never able to read HIS mind, though!
Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience? Yes This experience, plus several other things that have happened in my life--mainly dreams--have persuaded me that life and energy are two sides of the same coin, and that there's more to human existence than we can perceive with our five senses. E = MC(MC) pertains to humanity as well as the stars
How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices? I don't really fear death. I DO fear pain and suffering! But I don't really fear being dead. Maybe I'll feel different when I'm looking death in the face!
Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? No
Have you shared this experience with others? Uncertain I didn't at first. But I did when my father-in-law told his story.
What emotions did you experience following your experience? Bemused. Not sure what to make of it.
What was the best and worst part of your experience? Neutral--neither good nor bad. The event itself happened very quickly. The best thing was discovering--through a random, chance comment by my father-in-law, that I'm not the only one who's experienced this!!
Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience? No
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience? No
Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience? Yes It was over in an instant, so there's not a lot to tell. I guess maybe I would add that, when I felt my father's energy enter my body, it was as if the molecules of my own body were rearranging themselves, or being rearranged. I can't think of another way to describe it.
