Experience description:

On the day of her death, I had checked into work (I think I was in shock), expecting to stay, and our secretary told me to go home. After that, I drove to my father's home to break the news. My sister was also there from having visited her the day before. I was about to turn the corner to my father's house when out of nowhere, a bright red cardinal dive-bombed in front of my car, paused, then flew away. Without equivocation, I know that was a message from my mother. She loved cardinals, and had in fact given my two robotic ones years before she died.

A few days after that, I was in the kitchen pulling on a boot, and was aware of some vague movement at the top of the stairs. There is a triangular-shaped bookcase, which sits in the corner of two sides of the wall. I stood still for a moment and suddenly there was a steady succession of 'thuds' coming down the steps. I turned around and saw a book slowly falling, end over end, down the steps, finally stopping on the bottom step. I picked it up. It was 'Lessons from the Light.' My mother was a scientist, not a believer in the spiritual world and paranormal phenomenon (though she often told stories related by her mother). However, I knew that this was she. I said out-loud, 'Thanks Mom. I'm glad you made it across.' Again, I have no doubt whatsoever that this was a direct communication from my mother, especially since spiritual matters were always a bone of contention between us, and our relationship was--at the best of times---strained. I KNOW that, given her strong personality, she felt a need to let me know I was 'right' and that she needed to express that.

Shortly after this incident, I was playing Scrabble on my IPad (we loved to play it when she was alive, and she was fiercely competitive). Toward the end of my playing time, tiles popped up: CLAURI. I understood this to be 'See Lauri,' and it was so typical of her sense of humor, it was again clear that it was her. The twist in this? I am a clairvoyant and medium, and when I shared an experience with her as a very little girl, she was extremely hostile in her response for me to 'never do that again.' Somehow--perhaps as a result of her re-orientation process/life review upon 'death'--she felt a need to make amends for that and other things she did during my childhood and adulthood. In any case, though I know 'death' to be non-existent, it was further validation to receive this communication from my own mother. Thank you for providing this opportunity to share.
