I'll call it a dream as I was asleep but it definitely wasn't a dream. I was there.

I seen my grandmother, mother and 2 uncles in the hallway outside of my Grandfather's hospital room. They were all hugging/crying. They weren't aware of me.

My Grandfather was deceased, he walked past the family members and through a veil that I knew I couldn't go through.  As he walked away he said its OK now I'm all better and he got younger, to maybe late 20s. 

I felt extremely peaceful.

Back in the real world, it was during the night, the phone was ringing to tell us Granddad had passed. I said I knew.

Told my mum about it and she said I was correct, they were all hugging in the hallway when he passed.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Yes  My Grandfather died.

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  Yes     I just can't describe the 'veil'

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?      I was asleep

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   Some unfamiliar and strange place
I didn't get to enter it but I seen my grandfather enter it.

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   Everything about the universe
I knew what death was.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   Yes
A veil that my my granddad could go through.

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will
I wasn't sent back, I just knew I couldn't go through.

Did scenes from the future come to you?  No 

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (“life after death”)?   Yes   I saw my granddad go through the veil and walk away getting younger. I wasn't sad. I was at peace and just had a knowing of 'he's going somewhere else'.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Uncertain   Not really, except that I know what I experienced and I've never felt like that since.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Uncertain   Sometimes I just know stuff. Can't explain it.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     That Granddad spoke to me, seeing the veil.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  My Mum, she was stunned that I described the situation without 'being there'.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   No  

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   I kept thinking about it, I wanted to experience that feeling again.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   I still remember the feeling.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?      No

Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Uncertain   I have no idea about the whole God thing, but I do know there's something for us after death.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?   Yes   A dream a few months later, Granddad was back in Wales sitting on rocks by the ocean and I thought 'oh that's where he went'.
