My brother passed away on Friday, October 18th.

Saturday, October 19th it was storming. As I drove down the street, lightning struck and lit up the sky above me blue and purple. It hit a tree in front of me, causing it to come crashing down. Initially, I slammed on my breaks, but instead I drove faster forward. The tree did not even touch my car. The tree hit the power lines, causing them to fall around my car, and hot wires were whipping all around. I steered my car to the left, managing to avoid impact, but still ran over them.

Looking back, I know I could have died. I would like to think my brother protected me.

The next days, I spent with family. Sunday, I was with my mother and siblings, son, nieces and nephews. It seemed normal. Monday, I drove to North Georgia to see my father and clean out my brother's trailer. Tuesday, I drove to my mother's.

As I continued to drive, I felt like something was strange. It seemed like the radio screen was catching my eye. Although, it didn't occur to me exactly why. At 11:11am on Tuesday, October 22nd (my mother's birthday) I realized that my radio dial read, 'Bye.'

I would like to think this is a message from my brother.

The dial continued to read the message for days ahead. There were many disruptions to the reception as well. My car has been powered off and on, the radio has been changed to other functions such as bluetooth, phone calls, and text messages. The dial continued to read, 'Bye.'

Daily details:

On Wednesday there was a disruption to the radio. It went in and out, finally going to silence. It came back on to the song Memories by Maroon 5. This song is about the loss of a loved one.

After work on Thursday, the message disappeared. I started crying hysterically. The message came back, but then went away again before I could leave the parking lot. The message reappeared again. It offered me great relief.

Friday, the message remained on my car. As I drove, the radio went into a long static. I listened for some sort of communication. I could not decipher anything. Later, I drove out of broadcasting area. The message went away.

Sunday, I returned into broadcasting zone and the message returned. It remains there now.

I continue to seek communication.

          Please explain why you view the reality of your experience as real or not real:   I believe the experience is real because og the length of time it has occurred, despite the changes to the radio.

Describe in detail your feelings/emotions during the experience:  I was feeling sad for the loss of my brother.

Was there any emotional healing in any way following the experience? Yes

I have had closure knowing he is still with us, free from despair caused by illness.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?          The best part of this experience is to know my brother and I shared such a close bond that he found a way to communicate goodbye. I know he is happy and healthy now and everything is okay.

The worst part of the experience was when the message went away for multiple a brief moments.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?      Yes    I have a sense of relief knowing my brother understands the importance of saying goodbye. We were very close. I was unaware of his condition, and I could not see him before he passed.

Did the experience give you any spiritual understandings such as life, death, afterlife, God, etc.?         Yes    I believe now that ones spirit can protect and communicate with loved ones.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?         I started crying hysterically. I felt great shock at the time it occurred, 11:11am. I felt great love for him knowing his communication occurred at this time.

As the radio went out of reception and into complete silence, I felt a sense of altered space.

I feel a sense that this message served as a purpose to communicate, offer closure, so loved ones may understand everything is okay.
